Appended Table 6 Places of Oxygen Deficiency Danger (related to Articles 6 and 21)
  • (1) Inside of wells, etc. (meaning wells, well curbs, shafts, tunnels, caissons, pits and other similar structures, the same shall apply in the next item) (excluding the places listed in the next item) in contact or leading to the following strata:
    • (a) The gravel layers topped with the impermeable layers, those areas without water content or spring or with a small amount of those water
    • (b) Strata containing ferrous salts or manganese salts
    • (c) Strata containing methane, ethane or butane
    • (d) Strata from which carbonic water is welling up or likely to well up
    • (e) Rotten layers
  • (2) Inside of wells, etc. not having been used for a long period
  • (3) Inside of covered conduits, manholes or pits for accommodating cables, gas pipes and othersto be installed underground.
  • (3)-2 Inside of pools, covered conduits, manholes or pits with rainwater, river water or spring water accumulated inside or those having ever been filled with such kind of water
  • (3)-3 Inside of the heat exchangers, pipes, covered conduits, manholes, ditches or pits (hereinafter referred to as "heat exchangers, etc.") where sea water is remaining or has once been remained or the insides of heat exchangers, etc., which have been filled with sea water for a considerable period of time or have once been filled with sea water
  • (4) Inside of steel boilers having been left closed tightly over a considerable long period, tanks, reaction towers, holds and other facilities , inside of which is apt to be oxidized (excluding those made of stainless steel or provided with an inside coating of appropriate antioxidants)
  • (5) Inside of storage facilities such as tanks, holds and hoppers, containing coal, lignite, sulfide ore steel, scrapped iron, lumber, chips, volatile oil, fish oil and other oxygen absorbing substances or materials
  • (6) Inside of underground rooms, warehouses, tanks, holds or other poorly ventilated facilities, that their ceilings, floors, walls or straged materials have been coated with paint containing volatile oils and have been closed while the paint was still wet
  • (7) Inside of silos, cellars, warehouses, holds or pits used for the storage of grains or livestock feeds, ripening of fruits and vegetables, germination of seeds or growing of mushrooms and the like
  • (8) Inside of tanks, cellars or brewery chambers which contain or have once contained soy sauce, Japanese rice wine and the like, unrefined Japanese rice wine (soy), yeasts, and the other fermenting substances
  • (9) Inside of tanks, holds, pools, pipes, covered conduits, manholes, ditches or pits containing or having once contained sewage, rotting earth, waste water, pulp liquid and other substances which are apt to easily be decomposed
  • (10) Inside of refrigerators, cold storage warehouses, refrigerator vans, refrigerator trucks, holds or refrigerator containers used for refrigeration or freezing, or removal of lye content from water cement using dry ice
  • (11) Inside of boilers, tanks, reaction towers, holds, and other facilities containing or having once contained helium, argon, nitrogen, chlorofluorohydrocarbon, carbon dioxide, and other inactive gases
  • (12) In addition to the places listed in the preceding each item, the places prescribed by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare
