Rules on Special Education for Radiography Work

Ministry of Labour Public Notification No.50 of June 26, 1975

Based on the provision of paragraph (2) of Article 52-5 of the Ordinance on Prevention of Ionizing Radiation Hazards (Ministry of Labour Ordinance No.41 of 1972), the Rules on Special Education for Radiography Work have been prescribed as follows and shall be applied from July 1, 1975.

  • The special education pursuant to the provision of paragraph (1) of Article 52-5 of the Ordinance on Prevention of Ionizing Radiation Hazards shall be conducted bythe academic education and be conducted as regard to each scope listed in the middle column of the following table for not less than the number of hours listed in the right column of the same table corresponding to the subject listed in the left column in the same table.

    Construction and handling methods of X-ray apparatuses and gamma ray irradiation apparatuses The following matters for persons engaged in radiography work using X-ray apparatuses:Principles of X-ray apparatuses; construction and function of X-ray tube for X-ray apparatuses, high voltage generators and controllers; operation and inspection of X-ray apparatuses 1.5 hours
    The following matters for persons engaged in radiography work using gamma ray irradiation apparatuses:Types and forms of gamma ray irradiation apparatuses; construction and functions of gamma ray source vessels; construction and functions of radiation source delivery device or remote operation device to adjust position of radioactive source; construction of radioactive source and properties of radioactive materials, operation and inspection of gamma ray irradiation apparatuses 1.5 hours
    Effect of ionizing radiation on living organisms Types and properties of ionizing radiation, effect of ionizing radiation on cells, tissues, organs and whole body of living organisms 0.5 hour
    Relevant legislation Relevant Articles of the Industrial Safety and Health Act (Act No.57 of 1972), the Enforcement Order of the Industrial Safety and Health Act (Cabinet Order No.318 of 1972), the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (Ministry of Labour Ordinance No.32, 1972), and the Ordinance on Prevention of Ionizing Radiation Hazards 1 hour
