A worker lost his footing when climbing down from a truck bed and dislocated his big toe.

After getting the bed of a two-ton truck ready to go, a worker started to climb down from the truck to go operate the crane. He grasped the frame of the truck bed with his left hand and placed his right foot on the step next to the tool box. When his foot slipped, he fell to the ground on the toes of his right foot, dislocating his big toe.

Corrective Action
1. When climbing up or down steps, be sure your foot is securely planted before shifting your full weight to that foot.
