Lowering inner mast catches mechanic's hand.
A mechanic pulled out a lift cylinder rod pin in order to inspect the end rollers in the lower part of the inner mast. He got his hand caught with the dropped inner mast.
It had been kept in a raised position by approx. 30 cm to facilitate the work of pulling out the rod pin.



Corrective Action
1. Lower the mast to the bottom before starting the work. If the work is to be carried out with the mast in a raised position, take precautions to prevent the fall-off without fail.
2. If the works is to be done at a higher position, do not use the machine as a foothold, but prepare for a scaffold so that a worker can carry out the work, taking the right working posture.
