Fig. 3 Changes in Frequency Rates and Severity Rates for All Industries (1973-2002)

Compared with the preceding year, the accident severity rate in 2002 for all industries decreased by 0.03. The accident frequency rate in manufacturing was higher than the preceding year, but down in mining, stevedoring at ports and harbors, road freight transportation and construction.
