What kind of accident is about to happen?
A worker is doing telephone cable work using an aerial lift.
A car is parked on the opposite side of the road. To keep one lane of traffic open, the worker parked his aerial lift truck behind the parked car, and has necessarily extended the boom across the road to perform the work.
Can you predict what's about to happen?

Look what happened!
The top of a truck trying to pass through the open lane hit the boom, causing the worker to tumble out of the bucket.

Tips for preventing similar accidents
1. Prepare a safety plan in advance so that work will not be performed across a roadway.
2. Remove parked cars, and follow a plan that will secure a lane for regular traffic.
If work must be performed across a roadway by necessity, move the boom of the aerial lift truck out of the way when allowing traffic to pass through.
3. A guide worker should direct traffic, signaling drivers when to stop or go slowly.
4. When working on an aerial lift, always use a safety belt.
