第1条：序論

1. Introduction

公法91-596、第91議会、S.2193．1970年12月29日。

本法に基づいて策定された基準の執行を許可し、各州の安全で衛生的な労働条件を保証する努力を支援、促進し、労働安全衛生の分野における研究、情報、教育、訓練を実施することにより、男女労働者のための安全で衛生的な労働条件を保証するための、またその他の目的の法律。

To assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women; by authorizing enforcement of the standards developed under the Act; by assisting and encouraging the States in their efforts to assure safe and healthful working conditions; by providing for research, information, education, and training in the field of occupational safety and health; and for other purposes.

アメリカ合衆国上院および下院において制定。本法を1970年労働安全衛生法と呼ぶ。

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That this Act may be cited as the "Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970".
